December - Canberra Here We Come...

Daughter Mel and I flew to Canberra on the Friday morning and returned on the Sunday night...
Purpose of the trip, to view rental properties for her to move into come mid Jan 2008...
Canberra was nice and clean not like other Cities we have visited... But OMG the bloody flies, nobody told me about them... We didn't hire a car so we walked EVERYWHERE, our main target areas were the City, Turner and Braddon which are all in walking distance to her work...
On the Friday we viewed 5 properties, visited her new work building ( you should see the awesome view they have of Telstra Tower and the mountains ), we meet her assigned buddy for 2008 ( a grad who has just completed her 12 months ) and the lady who will be in charge of all the 58 new grads for 2008 in there department... Couldn't have picked a better 2 people if I had done it myself... We stayed at the Novotel right in the City, complete with Buffet breakfasts both mornings... We ate dinner one night at My Cafe Espresso in the Garema Arcade in Civic and the next night we ate at a Singapore Restaurant which might have been called the "La Pasa " on the corner of Alinga St and Northbourne Avenue Civic just
around the corner from the hotel... On the Saturday we viewed 10 properties which didn't leave much time for anything else, but we did meet a lady while viewing properties that actually is friends with another friends of Mel's ( small world, no its just Canberra hehehe ) ... Saturday night we even went for a dip in the hotel pool... Sunday we wondered the shops, didn't buy much and then headed to the airport to come home... I was so surprised by how greens things were and that there are lots of trees about the place even where new buildings are being built, they just haven't bulldozed the lot down... A big thumbs up there...
